- About Me
I’m quite adventurous, enjoy change, variety and trying new things. I came to New Zealand from England over 20 years ago to have a change and a new challenge…I haven’t looked back!
My career has changed from travel and management, to massage therapist, to counsellor. I have worked in corporate, health care and not for profit organisations, and latterly self employed.
I moved to Tauranga a few years ago and have really settled here. One thing that really brings me great pleasure is going for walks with my dogs around the beautiful Bay of Plenty and investigating new places.
In my quest to try out new things cooking and eating out has featured strongly! I’ve also been known to enjoy yoga, reading, rugby, and sailing.
Hi, I am Maxine!
Hi, I’m passionate about the work that I do and seeing people progress forward from their struggles towards more positive wellbeing. I’m a genuine, honest and easy going person with a good sense of humour (that I’ll use in my work if appropriate!). My counselling style is therefore down to earth and friendly. My hope is that you will feel at ease with me and we can build a relationship of trust, where you can open up and be really heard.
I recognise that sometimes it is pretty scary and nerve-racking to start counselling, if it helps I often feel a bit nervous the first time I meet a new client. I admire your courage in taking this step towards finding a different future for yourself.
