Getting started

So, the joy of banana oat muffins is just how easy they are for you to go ahead and make. They are a wonderful little snack to tuck into when you are working, or for packing into the lunch packs of your kids. Loaded with energy and with goodness, banana oat muffins are a must-try for anyone who is on the search for a happy, easy to enjoy snack. All that you need to make these banana oat muffins is:

  1. 3 cups of oats, preferably classic oats for the best nutritional kick.
  2. 3-4 large bananas, depending on how rich you like the banana taste. 
  3. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. A handful of fruits if you wish to add some extra fruity texture.

These four ingredients are all that you are going to need if you want to make some fantastic muffins. If you can, try and find some pre-made muffin tins that will allow for you to get the right size and shape of each muffin correct. Remember to fill it all the way up to the top; the lack of flour or baking powder means they won’t raise, so you don’t have to worry about that side of things.

Making your banana oat muffins

  1. So, start off by getting your oven heated up to around 350F; this should be warm enough.
  2. Use a mini muffin pan, and if possible grease it up before making the mixture.
  3. Create the mixture using the oats and bananas, smashing the banana for consistency.
  4. Add in the mixture with banana, oats, and vanilla extract into each of the muffin spots.
  5. Add in any extra fruit should you wish to include any of these fruits in the mix.
  6. Bake for around 15 minutes and allow the muffins to cool for around 5 minutes.
  7. Put the muffins out, and wait for the kids to come along and try one for themselves!

The biggest challenge you will probably have is smashing the bananas up to get the right consistency. I recommend that you use something that is evenly shaped on both sides and simple continue to smash away on the mixture. Sure, it will not look too appetising with broken banana and oatmeal in the one mixture. Once it all combines together in the oven, though, it is going to taste amazing!
